ABSTRACT
Secondary metabolites are produced by the plant, not having a direct role in the growth and development of plants. These metabolites have a role in plant defense. Due to the advancement of research, many genes have been identified having functions in biosynthesis and regulation of secondary metabolites and removal of undesirable product. Furthermore, through genetic engineering, the desired end product can be achieved. By using tissue culture we can able to produce secondary metabolite according to our needs around the year. There are some factors in the culture medium which affects the product such as structural arrangement and epigenetic variability of genomes culture cells. Apart from the genetic factor some external conditions like (light, temperature, and agitation) and internal such as (medium component, PH, degree of mixing and aeration) also affects the production of secondary metabolites.
Conclusion: we can get the desired product from the plant by just changing the internal factor like genetic engineering and external factors such as light, medium composition and Ph of media.
